We were really pleased that Sophie Chalumeau, the super talented children's street photographer and Small's street style editor, was recently able to visit FIMI, the Children’s Fashion Fair in Valencia, Spain, and report back about event and the great designs she discovered. The Children's Fashion Fair started out in 1964 as a
show within the Toy Fair and three years later it became an
independent trade fair in its own right and is now in its 40th year.
Sophie: I'm back from FIMI and had a great time covering the backstage preparations for the fashion show and meeting new people. It's a manageably sized fair so you can make your way through it easily. I found tons of great brands that were new to me, many from Spain. Here are some pictures from the fair and I will be back with even more later in the week.
1&2: Beautiful formal wear from Barcarola (Spain)
3: Multi-colored and innovative tights and leggings from Apricot (Spain)
4: Backstage at the fashion parade.
5: All dressed up...
6: Final touches.
7: Fresh and stylish outfits from Caramel Baby Child (UK)
8: Colorful, unique shoes with an unusual twist from Agatha Ruiz de la Prada
9: Organic children's wear brand with a bold patterns and strong ethical position. Katvig (Denmark)
