This week's giveaway is a beautiful, carefully handmade, one of a kind, 15" Waldorf style doll from Moonchild Studio. A Moonchild doll is an all-natural doll that is made with natural fibers. This doll is made with European cotton interlock fabric that complies with Oeko-tex standard 100, wool stuffing, and mohair hair.  Her clothes are hand made with European corduroy and knit fabrics and her hat and shoes are made with 100% wool felt.  She comes with a care sheet and a re-blushing cloth. Waldorf style dolls typically have a neutral expression so the child can add the feelings that the doll is needing to fulfill. As a child holds and plays with a Moonchild doll, the wool stuffing holds the child's body heat.  Besides being great for educational and creative play, these toys are safe for your child and good for the environment.  This gorgeous doll will be a wonderful addition to your child's life that can be passed down through the generations.

Small giveaways- Twirling Betty

We came across Twirling Betty when we were looking for summer accessories for our 'The Waters Edge' shoot in the last issue. Christen sent us lots of caps but we could only send back a few as the models and crew each wanted one to keep after they tried them on. So we bought a bunch on the spot and handed them out. Easy to carry in a bag and put on when the sun comes out, these caps are stylish, cute and very convenient. Small photo- Stomping Ground open studio special

Here is a bit more about one of our favorite new ideas from last year. Brooklyn based husband and wife team, Dennis and Kelsey started Stomping Ground after volunteering to take the school photos at their daughter's co-operative nursery. By involving the kids and letting them bring something of themselves to the session, they discovered the school photo could become a treasured image that really captures the child's spirit. The nursery school parents were so happy with the portraits Dennis and Kelsey realized they were onto something. 'We’ve found the way to bring high quality children’s portraiture to people at an affordable price is to create the work in the child’s world -- in school. And because of the economy of scale, we are able to offer great prices,” says Kelsey.Stomping Ground’s focus is on schools whose administration wants to offer parents an alternative to the status quo. Stomping Ground offers Open Studio Days throughout the year for the public where mini-sessions can be booked at a discount. As well as being the co-editor with me at Small, Christine has a clothes line, Baby Bean and shop- Little Bean - in Texas.  For Baby Bean, Christine finds vintage fabrics from all over the country and re-uses them to make the most beautiful and unique handmade clothes for kids. Little Bean, her shop, collects many of the designers and artists we feature in Small as well as her own line cf clothes. You can see some photos from the shop above. Right now she is having a wonderful winter sale through etsy of Winter samples and extra stock. Most of her clothes are light enough to be worn all year, with sandals in summer or layered up with tights and woollies for the Winter.
