We have interviewed Julia Rothman before in Small about her favorite independent publications for kids. I have recently been to her site and I remembered what a great resource it is. As well as being a talented artist, author and co founder of the webdesign group ALSO, Julia collects and reviews all kinds of independent art publications. Love anything from the European publisher Planeta Tangerina!
They have been in the forefront of contemporary illustration throughout the world. Wish the United States would embrace some of there editions. Lucky for me I am fluent in Portuguese but feel some Americans would love these fascinating illustrations.
